"Wild & Free", Go Gallery, Amsterdam

When I was asked to create something for the upcoming Wildlife exhibition: “Wild & Free”, one of the first things that came to mind after viewing some photographs of Harry Skeggs (@harryskeggs) were elephants. Approximately 10.000 to 15.000 elephants are poached every year for their ivory and tons of elephants are abused by humans as tourist attractions or labor. By vandalizing my elephants I wanted to raise awareness for poaching and elephant abuse. The elephants are hand-painted and varnished by using multiple layers of spray paint and acrylics in layers on top of each other.

The “Wild & Free” exhibition started on 12 Sept. and can be viewed till 24 Oct.
12 artists, urban and street artists were inspired by the beautiful photos of Harry Skeggs and participate in this exhibition.
